Let me briefly introduce myself. My name is Dennis Azaña, and I’m a graduate of Digital Illustration and Animation from Ateneo. I’m also an artist, graphic designer, video editor, animator, and illustrator. I’ve been in this industry for more than 15 years, and we created this program to help aspiring students and fresh graduates like you become professional artists. In this program, you’ll learn more than just tools and software; you’ll learn how to communicate well and be a strong team player. While software can be learned in school or online, the difference here is applying those tools and techniques to real work scenarios and practicing the proper way to interact and participate in a group. Yes, I’m an artist like you, and I’ll be your main guide and mentor throughout this program.

"The heavy use of space and contrast has been hammered into my design process, which made me realize that I had been neglecting my design fundamentals. I’ve been turning on the ruler function across different design programs ever since and checking the designs on a small screen to recheck readability. For making videos that heavily use motion graphics, the production process of planning out the scenes with the use of storyboards and style frames gave me a more streamlined method in producing these videos. I’ve often had trouble and roadblocks with my personal projects, seeing how they usually require teams to produce them in a decent timeframe. Lastly, the entire internship and seminars of Sir Denz emphasized the importance of soft skills, which are often overlooked by upcoming interns since we often prioritize our technical skills. Technical skills are important as well but should not be the only basis for securing jobs or internships." – Luis
"This internship definitely showed me that I still have a lot to work on regarding soft skills, despite having some experience talking to clients as a freelancer. I realized I have a huge struggle when switching between projects and I know the change won’t be instant, but now that I am aware of it, I can work on improving little by little. I still struggle to verbally get my point across compared to writing things down, but I believe more experiences will help me. As for technical skills, I had to re-learn the basics of Photoshop for graphics and I also learned a lot from my co-interns who helped me along the way. Photo manipulation was something I learned here as well, with techniques I wouldn’t have thought of without the video feedback I received. I also realized how behind I am in Premiere Pro, since it was only taught in passing before and it had been a long time since I used it extensively.
